About Shayne Sommer – our MC

Shayne is a Premium Member of Business Women Australia and Private Client Adviser with Shadforth Financial Group. As a leader in her field, she also provides advice to corporate members, facilitates seminars and provides technical training across the country.

Shayne holds a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism/Psychology) from the University of Queensland, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning. Shayne is a Certified Financial Planner® practitioner and Life Risk Specialist® professional with the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA).

Shayne’s background in communications and psychology has seen her highly sought after as a financial adviser as she effectively supports individuals and groups. Shayne also contributes to the Certified Financial Planner® certification program via the FPA and Deakin University.

About Marisa Broome

Marisa Broome is the Chair of Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional.  She has worked in financial services for more than 35 years, initially in funds management and for over 22 years as a financial planner. Marisa is passionate about the profession of financial planning and the opportunities that are available at this time of incredible change and disruption.

About Bernadette Degabriele

After successful careers as a teacher and as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy, Bernadette moved into business consultancy with a primary interest in people management. As the NSW Consulting Manager for Opticon Australia, she successfully led, managed and developed consulting teams to deliver assignments in Australia and the UK that involved: organisational change and transition, program and project management, personnel management, and complex IT implementations. Bernadette has an established track record in management consulting with more than 15 years’ experience in organisational change management, facilitation, executive coaching, procurement, contact centres set-up and development, and risk mitigation.

About Maria Shaw

Maria Shaw is a UK qualified solicitor and member of STEP, with experience advising on wills, probate, estate administration and trusts. She currently works as a paralegal with Australian Unity Trustees Legal Services and will be admitted as a lawyer in NSW on July 12, 2019. Maria formerly worked as the National Pro Bono Manager at Cancer Council, managing the Pro Bono Program in all states. The Pro Bono Program matches those affected by Cancer who satisfy an eligibility test, with volunteer firms who give legal, financial, work place and small business advice.
