BWA Podcast Show: The Inner Edge Leadership Accelerator: Ten Years of Listening to Women with Jessica Schubert
What happens when two leadership practitioners pause to reflect on what they have learned from walking alongside hundreds of women leaders over many years?
In this special episode of the Business Women Australia Podcast Show, Lyn Hawkins, Founder and National Director of Business Women Australia, is joined by BWA shareholder, executive coach, and Head of Learning & Development, Jessica Schubert, to explore the thinking, experiences, and observations that have shaped The Inner Edge Leadership Accelerator.
Lyn and Jessica invite listeners into a conscious dialogue about leadership development, influence, visibility, and what helps people flourish and contribute meaningfully in today’s increasingly complex world.
Together, they reflect on almost a decade of listening to women leaders across industries, sectors, professions, and career stages through the Business Women Australia ecosystem – from boardrooms and roundtables to retreats, mentoring conversations, and podcasts. They discuss what they have observed women value most: spaces to pause, think, experiment, be challenged, practise new ways of showing up, and learn alongside peers who are asking similar questions about who they are becoming as leaders.
Tune in to a conversation exploring the evolution of Business Women Australia into a conscious leadership ecosystem and community of practice, aligned with the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) – a global framework originating in Sweden to support the inner capabilities needed to address the complex challenges reflected in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Lyn and Jessica discuss why leadership development today is less about acquiring more tools and more about intentionally developing our capacities for self-awareness, perspective-taking, courageous conversations, strategic influence, meaningful relationships, and purposeful action.
Listeners will hear reflections on:
- What ten years of listening to women leaders has taught us
- Why capability alone does not always translate into influence or opportunity
- How conscious communication creates developmental spaces that are both supportive and stretching
- The role of peer learning, coaching, and communities of practice in leadership growth
- Why the Inner Development Goals offer a powerful lens for understanding modern leadership
- What it means to develop, practise and express leadership in ways that are authentic, sustainable and impactful
Whether you are stepping into a new chapter, broadening your influence, seeking greater clarity, or simply sensing there is more of your leadership waiting to be expressed, this conversation offers thoughtful reflections and practical insights to support your next step. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTsys7OTfZ0

Leadership is not something we arrive at once and for all. It is something we continue to develop, practise and express, often in the company of others who are willing to learn alongside us.
