Amber is a former print and TV journalist turned PR powerhouse, author, speaker, media trainer and business leader who consults to businesses of all shapes and sizes across Australia. With almost 20 years of communication industry expertise working in Australia and abroad, she has enjoyed a successful career in media, PR, and entrepreneurship.
Amber’s love affair with the media began as a print journalist in Sydney in the 1990s and continued as she worked as a general business reporter for newspapers and e-magazine in Hong Kong, London, and Paris. Returning to Australia in 2002, she worked in a number of respected and award-winning PR agencies, as well as in-house for a handful of high profile arts entities and government bodies.
Amber launched her own communication consultancy in 2007 with just two small business clients, a beauty salon start-up and a high-profile political lobbying firm. She now works with a wide range of clients in the big and small business arenas and focuses on delivering high-level media training, presentation skills workshops, crisis PR programs, and social media advice that gets results.
An avid writer, she has written two self-published business books, contributed chapters to several others and regularly writes freelance features and blog pieces about her communications industry. Amber has been a casual lecturer at the APM College of Business and Communication and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Technology, Sydney, a Master of Arts from the University of New South Wales and a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.
Having become a popular guest speaker, MC, and panelist, Amber understands the power of effective leadership through exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication.
